Back in Singapore

I AM BACK!

And it feels good!

After this, the next time I'll be back will be in July - 5 long bloody months!

SNIFF!

Anyway am in the SG office right now and it feels a bit weird to be back - I don't know if I'm beginning to feel that I really don't belong to this family anymore or what.

Gotta do some work - loads of work to be done and going for Backstreet Boys concert later!

New office - sucky cubicle

I'm in our new office and my cubicle sucks. In fact a lot of these cubicles suck. No privacy whatsoever - I sit facing the corridor and the asst and coordinator sit behind me! And behind them is the communal pigeon hole/printer/CD burner area so their cubicles aren't great too! Best of all we have TWO unused offices in front of us for two 'VPs' that have yet to be appointed.

I hate my new cubicle but what can I do? The TV is right above me somemore, I got an old table with penknife cuts all over it right near the keyboard area. Some of the shelves for my CDs are so near the communal corridor, if I am brainless enough to put ANYTHING there, people can help themselves to my stuff oh-so-easily.

And this office is now 4 stops away from my house as opposed to the old office which was only 2 stops away. Plus it is also a long walk from train station out to the office. The only upside is I hear that there are a lot more better yet cheaper eateries around here and there are a few 'hip' companies in my building. There has better be more leng zais! TAMADE!

GAH!

Working from home

The warm spell is over! It has been 19 degrees for the past week and I tried opening the windows (just slightly) for the past two nights and no more hum bins! YAY! I reckoned all that bad 'chi' was causing them or maybe psychologically I just felt better knowing I have done something to 'prevent' the bad dreams. Ah well.

Am working from home now since the office is in shambles - in btwn Citic Tower & Oxford House. Gonna go thru my emails and then feck it, I'm going shopping! Armed with my bank card, I'm a danger to myself! I bought myself a LBD from Zara yest for HK$479 which is very Audrey Hepburnish! Very pleased with it except... I can't quite fill out the chest area of the dress! Damn these European brands! And no, I don't think a padded bra would work (unless i wear about 3 really padded ones hahahahaha!)

I also bought a sweater from Esprit for 50% off and that was STILL HK$180! Met up with Rena for dinner at Thai Basil at Pacific Place as she will be going back to SG next week in anticipation of the baby's arrival and won't be back in HK till maybe June! She's gonna name the baby Megan! I really like the name Megan and at one point was hoping to name my own kid that (but since that doesn't look like it's happening (anytime soon), I am very happy with her choice in the name!)I will also have one friend less now (speaking of friends, I have no idea where the hell Ko is....)

Getting hungry - gonna find lunch and then go shopping! Shall buy a belt, a handbag and hopefully a nice pair of shoes!

Sat, Sun, Mon and I am homeeeeeeeeee! :)

Cat Cafe pics

There you go! The long overdue Cat Cafe piccies! It's badly done coz I am lazy and can't be fecked to adjust it... Party pics this weekend!

It's half day for us tomorrow coz the movers will be taking away our computers and stuff! And we can't work on Friday at all coz the servers will be moved too! However that means we need to go back on Sat/Sun to unpack and catch up on work! Bleah! I aim to go shopping tmrw & Friday since my weekends are a goner! And then! AND THEN! I am going homeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Flight on Monday night so I can still go in to the office on Mon to do some work and transfer stuff to my laptop so I can work out of the SG office for the rest of next week. I realise I shouldn't have been so nice to work a full day when in actual fact I can go earlier but oh well, hindsight is a wonderful thing!

Looking forward to going home. The humbins are really getting to me and the most recent one is just reallyh freaky! I just want dreamless sleep!! That's not asking for a lot issit! *sob*

Old and in pain

I know I promised pictures from the party but I am dead beat. (plus I have a massive backache)

I just feel bleeding exhausted. It is like all the smooth sailing at work has come to a magnificent crash and all my work is now just being dumped on me the way an elephant takes his evening shit.

Work is crazy enough and what is worse, we have to deal with the office move. I can't be one to complain coz having only being in this job, in this office for a mere 5 months, my possessions in the office is limited and in actual fact, excluding computer & hi-fi, can barely fill up ONE carton box. I am quite embarrassed when everyone else has at least 4-5 boxes of work plus personal stuff. Cardin & Erica, being the assistant & coordinator respectively, had to pack our massive CD library, DVD library and beta library and though I should help (afterall I am in the mktg team), the sudden influx of emails from around the region and Repertoire Owners ensured that not only I have a kazillion issues and emergencies to deal with, I don't even have the luxury of getting Erica to help me coz she is so damn busy with the fucking packing!

Okay, trying to relive my day is proving to be tiring too.

Another time....

One more week!

Woohoo! 1 more week before I come back to Singapore (again!) At the rate I return, nobody will miss me lor. Sniff! Even my ex boss Kelly said "it's as though you were never gone, you seem to come back quite often!" Fine! I can take a hint! HMRMPH!

In the meantime, I am beginning to feel the stress of packing up for the office move. Thankfully I don't have that much of my own to pack and frankly I'll just throw everything out except for the CDs. The coordinators have a harder time, having to pack up thousands of CDs in the library as well as hundreds of DVDs and beta tapes! Phew! I know I should help but they don't ask me when they do it also wat....

I am addicted to melancholic music. I don't know what is the deal with me and depressing music! I put on Nirvana, The Ataris this morning and now it's back to more melancholic shit i.e. David Gray.

There is too much to do and too little brain cells & willpower to manage it all!
HELPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!

Pffft!

I threw a small house party in my tiny apartment last night. Lazy as usual, the pics will come much later.

About 10 -15 ppl showed up so I guess you can call it a decent party. They were mostly Cardin's friends, some of whom I have met before in previous social settings. We had a cake and we had a few bottles of wine. We didn't manage to finish all the alcohol so i still have a bottle of champagne, a bit of white wine (one glass precisely which I am having now), coke (which i dun like to drink) and my JD was barely touched too!

All in all, it was alright - party ended about 2am which was kinda early but I guess we were all getting old! Shall post the pics tomorrow.

After the party, I had to massively clean up the house. Anyway Chinese New Year coming so might as well! In addition, I was ABANDONED by someone who promised to be online to keep me company after my lunch. Imagine my pleasant surprise when I came back from my lunch and got a msg 'I'm out to have coffee!' TSK!

So, pumped up by the energy of being 'abandoned', I got down and did my household chores with a vengence like never before! I changed my bedsheets and quilt cover, beat the dust out of all my pillows, swept my floor twice and I got down and wiped my floor. Yes, WIPED it with a cloth not mopped coz I reckoned I can get it cleaner that way. Go me! I think even my mum would be proud of me. Now I'm not going to do a scrap of housework until after I come back from CNY! Bwahaha!

Another funny dream

This blog is becoming like a dream diary

Last night, I dreamt I was at a restaurant again! I must be really hungry when I sleep coz that's like my 4th or 5th restaurant dream liao. Either that, it may be, as www.dreammoods.com suggests, "that you are feeling overwhelmed by decisions/choices that you need to make in your life. Alternatively, it indicates that you are seeking for emotional nourishment outside of your social support system." I think I need a hug.

Anywaaaaaaaay, this time round, there were so many of us at this eating place. It was more like a bistro with seating booths. There was Hoon, Serene and someone else (I can't see the person coz she was back facing me, probably Trish or Siew Leng) at the booth furthest away from me, and then there was Kai, Yiling & Gary in the booth right in front of me and SJ & Addy were in the same booth as me. The freaky thing is (don't kill me, it's just a dream!) Addy was pregnant! And she was happily pregnant coz she said 'yay, can eat for two now!' and promptly ordered A HUGE ASS slice of pumpkin pizza! Hey don't ask me how I remember details like that - when I woke up, I tried to quickly commit all these to memory before I dozed off again and just end up with fragments again. SJ was sitting beside her, happily eating and giving Addy tips (?!?!?) and basically I was just a mute spectator to this truly bizarre scene.

In the other booth, Yiling & Kai were dispensing advice to Gary who apparently was besotted with my younger sister Diana! Poor dude has no appetite and looked a bit pale in my dream...and from the other booth,I could see Serene & Hoon sniggering away as Kai & Yiling tried to cheer him up. Hahahah! Just thinking about it now makes me wanna laugh! This part I don't remember very well but I *think* he got up from the booth and went running off after her (*I think*)upon seeing her walk past while Serene & Hoon burst into peals of laughter when he zoomed past them.

Ah well at least it was a funny dream and not a hum bin so I'm happy! :)

stupid

I don't know what to think anymore.

I am too stupid to handle life.

I am waiting for the revelation to fall from the sky and land with a resounding 'thunk' on the top of my head. Perhaps then I will figure out the answers.

I don't think I can deal with whatever life throws at me.

That said, I think, in short, I am just stupid.
(or maybe just really tired)

What a pointless post this has been.

(alright before all of you start asking "what is this about?" it's nothing, just felt like ranting)

Tamade!

TAMADE! TAAMMMAAAADDEEEEE! Hum bin again last night!
I dreamt I was being chased through the woods....by an unseen person! I ran and ran and in the end I gave up running and just laid down flat out in the middle of all the long grass in the field.

There was a second parter - I think Kai, you were there. But it was more innocent and I think it was us going to a restaurant. Yes I don't know what's the obsession with going to restaurants, I must be hungry all the damn time or something in Dreamland!

Now my 'favourite' site of the moment.... www.dreammoods.com! :P
"Chase dreams often stem from feelings of anxiety in your walking life. The way we respond to anxiety and pressure in real life is typically manifested as a chase dream. Running is an instinctive response to physical threats in our environment. Often in these dream scenarios, you are being pursued by some attacker, who wants to hurt or possibly kill you. You are running away, hiding, or trying to outwit your pursuer. Chase dreams may represent your way of coping with fears, stress or various situations in your waking life. Instead of confronting the situation, you are running away and avoiding it. Ask yourself who is the one chasing you and you may gain some understanding and insight on the source of your fears and pressure.

The pursuer or attacker who is chasing you in your dream may also represent a part of yourself. Your own feelings of anger, jealousy, fear, and possibly love, can assume the appearance of threatening figure. You may be projecting these feelings onto the unknown chaser. Next time you have a chase dream, turn around and confront your pursuer. Ask them why they are chasing you. (HAHA! This cracked me up! Siao!)

One may be consumed by their own anger, jealousy, love, or self-destructive behavior. For example, you may be drinking too much or exhibiting open hostility toward others around you. You may subconsciously be threatened by these actions which have been jeopardizing your relationships and/or career. Your dreams are a way of calling attention to these self-destructive actions."

I was gonna blog about my experience at the Chinese Music Awards last night but guess I'll do it tonight. Boss in the office today! Cannot 'nua'! Back to work!

I hate humbin-ing! :(

Hum bin

I had a nightmare last night! I dreamt that chunks of skin were falling off the top of my head and when I sifted through my hair, there were patches of pink raw looking skin on my scalp! Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!

From www.dreammoods.com
'To dream that your skin is covered with rashes or other skin deformity, signifies your fear in facing a harsh reality. This may also be a pun to indicate that you are making a rash decision.'

WTF!

Closest thing to crazy

I am in love......with the Katie Melua album. I know I am like 2 years behind this but only just discovered how excellent it is especially when played late night. Am going to get the new one to listen to too.

Lazy

Kai asked me "Why haven't you updated your blog?"

Well I've been lazy frankly.

Nothing much to update except that Cardin has sent out the invite to our friends to attend a 'party' in my tiny apartment this Sat. I think there'll be about 10 - 20 people and honestly I'm a bit nervous. Everyone's gonna have to stand around or sit on the floor and I have to pack my house lor! Tamade. I hope nobody gets into any frisky business and they sure as hell will not be allowed in my room!

U know what - I really AM feeling lazy so am gonna go watch TRU CALLING now. This show makes absolute no sense whatsoever and this is the last ever episode so I'm just gonna find out what on earth was on the scriptwriters' minds!

1st weekend of 2006

I stayed in today, it's a freezing 13 degree celcius. My house is horrific, the layer of dust is starting to show up very clearly. House hasn't been cleaned for about 3 weeks! What's worse, Guy & Cardin popped by last night after we spent the day shopping and as much as they admired my cosy apartment, Cardin looked at my mirror and went 'i think it's time for u to start dusting'. I let them come in with their shoes coz I reckon it's too dirty to make a difference.

So now my apartment's (fairly) spick & span. The only other two things I need to do is finish taking the stuff out of my suitcase (I know it's been almost a week!) and tidying up my dining table which hardly ever serves its real purpose - it's more like a 'don't know where to put? oh there's some space" table.

Domestic chores are boring so I shall talk about yesterday.

Went Harbour City in Tsim Sha Tsui as Cardin was on a mission to find shoes. I just wanted to find some clothes to wear for CNY. Whatever. I only managed to buy a cream holey jumper from Mango and that was all I bought. She bought shoes, a top, a dress, a jacket on top of her essentials like cleansing oil. Laden with shopping bags (her, not me) we met up with Guy after he finished work and headed towards Fortress (HK's Harvey Norman?) where he needed to buy a mobile phone and he was gonna buy Cardin a MP3 player. She bought a Creative (she was adamant NOT to get an Ipod coz he has one and it doesn't work on the ancient comp at home! haha) He got a super basic Sony Ericsson phone. For a bloke, he knows very little about technology and he doesn't even want a camera nor any functions whatsoever so I guess having a colour phone is already considered very 'high tech' for him.

We had dinner at this Cat Cafe where cats were roaming everywhere! They were so tame and so cute and would jump up on the seats with the customers or even on the table but they wouldn't eat the customers food. They'll just gather around when the staff hands out treats. I took some pics but there's something wrong with my cam, it's not loading into my comp. Will try again tonight and post.

Gotta cook dinner now. Laterzs!

Zzzz...

It is 11 degrees celcius now and I... just... want... to... stay... in... bed... and... sleep...

I was so warm and snuggled under my lovely quilt this morning when I awoke. (By the way, I had a continuation of my dreams from the two previous nights, it is totally bizarre!) The air was so crisp & cold. I hit 'snooze' twice on my mobile and even though there are no bosses in the office, some form of self-discipline saw me rolling reluctantly out of my warm haven, stuffed my feet into my cushy bedroom slippers and shuffled to the freezing bathroom to get ready for work.

It's gonna be 9 degrees celcius tomorrow!
No wonder starting to wrinkle liao! SOB!

New Year Eve/Birthday Pics

I spent some time after dinner putting these photos on a montage. My bloody photoshop skills have gone rusty. In the end, it's just randomly put together. At the risk of losing some of my friends, shout if you don't like what u see. Click to enlarge. i have to put them separate even though i did them as one huge image. Blogger doesn't seem to allow such a huge image! BAH!

Addy - send the pics of dinner at Hokkien restaurant!

More pics from Lynda's wedding

Dinner before watching "Narnia"

Villa Bali pics

Xmas Day lunch & dinner pix

Boxing Day lunch pics

Lynda's wedding pics

battered & bruised

I'm allergic to work.

I am close to drooping my head on my work desk and get 'qwertyism' on the side of my face.

I have a backache. Also I think I may have eaten too much when I was home in SG coz I looked in the mirror and I swear I look wider and the tummy is sticking out a lot more.

I have two fucking scabs/zits on my chin as though a vampire sank its teeth there.

Weather is too dry- the scalp on my hairline is threatening to flake off!

I have new found deepset wrinkles under my eyes. I swear it wasn't there one day, and when I looked again, they appeared. Undereye cream that promises hope bring none!

Last but not least, I have a fantastic bruise on my left arm. But thankfully due to cold weather I am covered up by long sleeves.

My cough isn't that bad (I think) but my voice has gone a bit manly. It's quite Fran Drescher!

Alrighty back to work

Time flies when you are having fun

I can't believe I am back home in HK. Just 1 1/2 weeks ago,I was just getting ready to go to Singapore. And now I'm back. Sitting here, the past 11 days just seemed to have gone by way too fast. I’m going to write down what I did whilst I was back in Singapore coz I can’t quite believe it myself!

22 Dec
Went into the office to have lunch in the office as December was birthday month for Merv, Jo Ho & Cynthia. Had pizza & KFC in the office whilst the rest showed me the scandalous pics of excessive alcohol consumption at the company retreat the weekend before as well as their RIAS party which looked like a great deal of fun. Also went for facial with Addy and had dinner with her & SJ before proceeding to Zouk Wine bar for Serene's birthday celebration.

23 Dec
Met up for lunch with WK & Jules and drove Kai & I to attend Lynda's wedding at Sentosa. Venue was lovely and Kai almost caught the bouquet! Haha! The table we were at was a great deal of fun. Sujin from ST turned out to be Lynda's husband's childhood friend and the gal I sat next to turned out to be my sales colleague's niece. After the wedding, met up with Yiling and Sue for supposedly MOS but the queue was insane and even with my connections it was hard to get us in so we went off to Loof at Odeon Towers which was quite nice and also popped over to CHIJMES for another drink before calling it a night.

24 Dec
Met up with Gary in the late afternoon to pop by to Tiffany's so that he could buy a gift for his friend. We then proceeded to Marche where we were joined by a (VERY LATE) SJ and (a not so late but still late) Tricia. Following a sinful dinner, we watched Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. When we got out of Cineleisure, the whole area was PACKED with teenagers who were spraying one another with those stupid cannisters that sprays 'fake snow'. By the time we got out of the mad crowd and tried to head towards my car which was parked at Shaw Centre, the four of us ended up at the side of Meritus Mandarin at the stroke of midnight. When we FINALLY got to the car after a long roundabout walk (we didn’t wanna walk amongst the crazy spray-happy people), we drove to Shangri La for a quiet drink which was quite pleasant.

25 Dec
Picked up a super late (again!) Trish, Addy & Siew Leng at Lot One and we met up with the rest at Riverside Point for afternoon margaritas and Mexican food. We also swopped presents. Thank you all for the lovely presents! I brought everything back with me! We then went for a karaoke-thon at K-Box at Marina Square and dinner at a fab Jap restaurant where the portions were as huge ass as you can possibly imagine. Obviously after stuffing our faces, we needed to chill out so Holland V was next and as a real sign of our age, we all had tea to end the night.

26 Dec
Met up with Ah Sue who is also back in Singapore for the festive season along with Yiling, Kai & Gary at Corduroy & Finch at Sixth Avenue. I loveeeeeee my presents Sue & Gary! Sue got me a gorgeous Topshop sweater cardi thing that Gary says looks a bit ah ma (haha!) and Gary got me the bestest, softest card holder from Bottega Veneta. We stuffed our faces, took pics, us gals criticized Gary’s pink checkered shirt and had a ball of a time. We then proceeded to Wheelock Place where I bought some cute stationery and Kai bought an iPod. Since I didn’t get a calendar this year, I bought myself a nice Van Gogh one! After shopping around where everyone bought something, we drove to River Valley and bought Boon Tong Kee Chicken rice and went to Sue’s place to have dinner where Yiling, Gary & I were subjected to a Rain ‘Live’ DVD concert during dinner! We played “The Game of Life’ and after Kai & Yiling went home (they had to work the next day) Sue, Gary & I sat around, watched TV and made plans to go for a holiday in the US later this year.

27 Dec:
Woke up bloody early and had no car for the day as Diana sent it for repairs. I went to Textile Centre to meet Eunice & her fiancé for my bridesmaid dress fitting and had lunch & coffee with them. I then met Gary whose office was closed the whole week and was super free down town. It was raining cats and dogs and household pets (Gary’s choice of words, not mine). We met Sue and Kai who was on a ‘Rain CD hunt’ and had yummy Korean food for dinner. We then went down to River Valley for teh tarik and after that went to bar stop with sue. After dropping Sue home, I went to Gary’s place to chill out on his garden swing and meet his lovely dog Roxy who according to Gary, liked me a lot. Haha!

28 Dec
Met Gary (again!) to watch King Kong and then dinner with Hoon, Linda, SJ, Addy at Great World City. We walked to Winebar, and then into Zouk itself where Merv, Linda & Hoon bought Alan & I THREE flaming Lamborghinis and I was COMPLETELY trashed. Can’t quite remember the night except I bit Merv when drunk and he pinched me on my left arm where I now have a huge ass bruise the size of my palm.

29 Dec
Drove to Gary's to pick him up to go for tea. After the sensational night of drinking the night before, I needed to chill out, and my stomach needed some food! Got to Mohd Sultan and Book Cafe was closed for renovations! Tamade. We went to Bakerz Inn at Paragon, stuffed our faces (as usual!) and went in search for Gary’s ‘weekend’ bag. He bought a Gucci messenger bag and I bought a Crumpler laptop messenger bag for myself which became the birthday present from the gals. Thanks gals! It’s purple, it's called 'The Considerable Embarrassment' and it fits my laptop wonderfully! You will all see it when I bring it back for CNY. Had dinner with Adeline & SJ at Ajisen Ramen which gave me a freaking sore throat and a nasty cough the next day!

30 Dec
Met Christine for lunch at Bugis and ran an errand. Met up with Sue at Gucci again (they were having a sale, I was tempted but I don’t really need a $700 bag snig) Kai came to meet us after her last day at work! (HOORAY FOR KAI!) and we had dinner at a Teochew porridge restaurant at Killiney’s. We chilled at Sue’s for a while before deciding on Villa Bali where Gary & Yiling joined later. Supper at Newton completed the night and Sue was due to be off home to KL on New Year’s Day.

31 Dec
Got my hair trimmed. The ends were starting to look horribly dry. Met the gals at OCBC Centre for a sumptuous dinner at a Hokkien restaurant, onwards to drinks at fluid where we counted down to the New Year and a super drunk WK & Jules were slutting away with a not so drunk but still quite drunk Merv! HAHA! Bought champagne for my bestest pals in the world to celebrate the New Year (and me *FINALLY* turning 26 ack!) Greedy for grub after Fluid, prata at RV was next and we drove to Gary’s place hoping to chill by the garden swing but weather would not permit. We ended up playing blackjack in his room with his new waterproof playing cards (came in useful coz clumsy me spilt water!) and went online to play some juvenile Love Calculator game! HAHA!

1 Jan
Yes, 26 years old. My mom ‘choped’ all of us for a family day to my Aunt Irene’s to celebrate a belated 80th birthday for my granny. My parents were the only one who seemed to remember it was my birthday and gave me an red packet each. Nobody else remembers lor. So much for ‘family’. Hmrph! Stoned at Aunt Irene’s, ate dinner, fed Logan, chatted a bit to my aunts/uncle/cousins and was disturbed by my niece (daughter of my cousin who is the same age as me…nothing wrong with the kid, she’s cute but her mother is my age and we used to go to sch together lor!) After dropping my folks home, I went to Emerald Hill for drinks with Gary, Ian and Andrea at No. 5 at Emerald Hill. Got a parking ticket (Forgot to put coupon lah, NB, si bei suay) and headed to Jurong for a (short) mahjong session at Hoon's.

This is it. What a jam packed week it has been but oh so fun! Looking forward to coming back on 24 Jan for BSB and hopefully another round of partying (not as mad as the one on the 28th PLEASE!) and for CNY (hooray red packets!)

If you read this far, you obviously had a lot of time on your hands. Now don't be like me here in HK & go out and get a life! :)
