I can't believe I am back home in HK. Just 1 1/2 weeks ago,I was just getting ready to go to Singapore. And now I'm back. Sitting here, the past 11 days just seemed to have gone by way too fast. I’m going to write down what I did whilst I was back in Singapore coz I can’t quite believe it myself!
22 Dec
Went into the office to have lunch in the office as December was birthday month for Merv, Jo Ho & Cynthia. Had pizza & KFC in the office whilst the rest showed me the scandalous pics of excessive alcohol consumption at the company retreat the weekend before as well as their RIAS party which looked like a great deal of fun. Also went for facial with Addy and had dinner with her & SJ before proceeding to Zouk Wine bar for Serene's birthday celebration.
23 Dec
Met up for lunch with WK & Jules and drove Kai & I to attend Lynda's wedding at Sentosa. Venue was lovely and Kai almost caught the bouquet! Haha! The table we were at was a great deal of fun. Sujin from ST turned out to be Lynda's husband's childhood friend and the gal I sat next to turned out to be my sales colleague's niece. After the wedding, met up with Yiling and Sue for supposedly MOS but the queue was insane and even with my connections it was hard to get us in so we went off to Loof at Odeon Towers which was quite nice and also popped over to CHIJMES for another drink before calling it a night.
24 Dec
Met up with Gary in the late afternoon to pop by to Tiffany's so that he could buy a gift for his friend. We then proceeded to Marche where we were joined by a (VERY LATE) SJ and (a not so late but still late) Tricia. Following a sinful dinner, we watched Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. When we got out of Cineleisure, the whole area was PACKED with teenagers who were spraying one another with those stupid cannisters that sprays 'fake snow'. By the time we got out of the mad crowd and tried to head towards my car which was parked at Shaw Centre, the four of us ended up at the side of Meritus Mandarin at the stroke of midnight. When we FINALLY got to the car after a long roundabout walk (we didn’t wanna walk amongst the crazy spray-happy people), we drove to Shangri La for a quiet drink which was quite pleasant.
25 Dec
Picked up a super late (again!) Trish, Addy & Siew Leng at Lot One and we met up with the rest at Riverside Point for afternoon margaritas and Mexican food. We also swopped presents. Thank you all for the lovely presents! I brought everything back with me! We then went for a karaoke-thon at K-Box at Marina Square and dinner at a fab Jap restaurant where the portions were as huge ass as you can possibly imagine. Obviously after stuffing our faces, we needed to chill out so Holland V was next and as a real sign of our age, we all had tea to end the night.
26 Dec
Met up with Ah Sue who is also back in Singapore for the festive season along with Yiling, Kai & Gary at Corduroy & Finch at Sixth Avenue. I loveeeeeee my presents Sue & Gary! Sue got me a gorgeous Topshop sweater cardi thing that Gary says looks a bit ah ma (haha!) and Gary got me the bestest, softest card holder from
Bottega Veneta. We stuffed our faces, took pics, us gals criticized Gary’s pink checkered shirt and had a ball of a time. We then proceeded to Wheelock Place where I bought some cute stationery and Kai bought an iPod. Since I didn’t get a calendar this year, I bought myself a nice Van Gogh one! After shopping around where everyone bought something, we drove to River Valley and bought Boon Tong Kee Chicken rice and went to Sue’s place to have dinner where Yiling, Gary & I were subjected to a Rain ‘Live’ DVD concert during dinner! We played “The Game of Life’ and after Kai & Yiling went home (they had to work the next day) Sue, Gary & I sat around, watched TV and made plans to go for a holiday in the US later this year.
27 Dec:
Woke up bloody early and had no car for the day as Diana sent it for repairs. I went to Textile Centre to meet Eunice & her fiancé for my bridesmaid dress fitting and had lunch & coffee with them. I then met Gary whose office was closed the whole week and was super free down town. It was raining cats and dogs and household pets (Gary’s choice of words, not mine). We met Sue and Kai who was on a ‘Rain CD hunt’ and had yummy Korean food for dinner. We then went down to River Valley for teh tarik and after that went to bar stop with sue. After dropping Sue home, I went to Gary’s place to chill out on his garden swing and meet his lovely dog Roxy who according to Gary, liked me a lot. Haha!
28 Dec
Met Gary (again!) to watch King Kong and then dinner with Hoon, Linda, SJ, Addy at Great World City. We walked to Winebar, and then into Zouk itself where Merv, Linda & Hoon bought Alan & I THREE flaming Lamborghinis and I was COMPLETELY trashed. Can’t quite remember the night except I bit Merv when drunk and he pinched me on my left arm where I now have a huge ass bruise the size of my palm.
29 Dec
Drove to Gary's to pick him up to go for tea. After the sensational night of drinking the night before, I needed to chill out, and my stomach needed some food! Got to Mohd Sultan and Book Cafe was closed for renovations! Tamade. We went to Bakerz Inn at Paragon, stuffed our faces (as usual!) and went in search for Gary’s ‘weekend’ bag. He bought a Gucci messenger bag and I bought a
Crumpler laptop messenger bag for myself which became the birthday present from the gals. Thanks gals! It’s purple, it's called 'The Considerable Embarrassment' and it fits my laptop wonderfully! You will all see it when I bring it back for CNY. Had dinner with Adeline & SJ at Ajisen Ramen which gave me a freaking sore throat and a nasty cough the next day!
30 Dec
Met Christine for lunch at Bugis and ran an errand. Met up with Sue at Gucci again (they were having a sale, I was tempted but I don’t really need a $700 bag snig) Kai came to meet us after her last day at work! (HOORAY FOR KAI!) and we had dinner at a Teochew porridge restaurant at Killiney’s. We chilled at Sue’s for a while before deciding on Villa Bali where Gary & Yiling joined later. Supper at Newton completed the night and Sue was due to be off home to KL on New Year’s Day.
31 Dec
Got my hair trimmed. The ends were starting to look horribly dry. Met the gals at OCBC Centre for a sumptuous dinner at a Hokkien restaurant, onwards to drinks at fluid where we counted down to the New Year and a super drunk WK & Jules were slutting away with a not so drunk but still quite drunk Merv! HAHA! Bought champagne for my bestest pals in the world to celebrate the New Year (and me *FINALLY* turning 26 ack!) Greedy for grub after Fluid, prata at RV was next and we drove to Gary’s place hoping to chill by the garden swing but weather would not permit. We ended up playing blackjack in his room with his new waterproof playing cards (came in useful coz clumsy me spilt water!) and went online to play some juvenile
Love Calculator game! HAHA!
1 Jan
Yes, 26 years old. My mom ‘choped’ all of us for a family day to my Aunt Irene’s to celebrate a belated 80th birthday for my granny. My parents were the only one who seemed to remember it was my birthday and gave me an red packet each. Nobody else remembers lor. So much for ‘family’. Hmrph! Stoned at Aunt Irene’s, ate dinner, fed Logan, chatted a bit to my aunts/uncle/cousins and was disturbed by my niece (daughter of my cousin who is the same age as me…nothing wrong with the kid, she’s cute but her mother is my age and we used to go to sch together lor!) After dropping my folks home, I went to Emerald Hill for drinks with Gary, Ian and Andrea at No. 5 at Emerald Hill. Got a parking ticket (Forgot to put coupon lah, NB, si bei suay) and headed to Jurong for a (short) mahjong session at Hoon's.
This is it. What a jam packed week it has been but oh so fun! Looking forward to coming back on 24 Jan for BSB and hopefully another round of partying (not as mad as the one on the 28th PLEASE!) and for CNY (hooray red packets!)
If you read this far, you obviously had a lot of time on your hands. Now don't be like me here in HK & go out and get a life! :)
