1408

The office closed at 4pm today in view of Mid Autumn Festival tomorrow (no need to work! WOOHOO!). Instead of going home directly, Cardin & I decided to watch a movie and we went to catch '1408'.

The problem with this movie is that - the scariest bit were already shown in the trailers! Of course you put in good bits in the trailer; I wouldn't have known about the movie if I had not caught the trailer pre-'The Invasion' but I absolutely hate it when they put the good bits in it and the rest of the movie just couldn't match up to the good bits in the trailer. Nonetheless it's still a pretty decent flick, particularly if you haven't seen the trailer. It's got spooky bits and it definitely makes you jump every now and then. It might also make your skin crawl a bit the next time you are in a hotel room and The Carpenters 'We've Only Just Begun' come on the radio/alarm clock thingy. Heh.

In other news, G is coming to Hong Kong (finally!)!!! 24 Oct - 29 Oct! I've taken 25 & 26 Oct off and hopefully we'll go do something off the beaten track here in HK. I reckon we will explore the old fishing villages of Cheung Chau, perhaps go to Lamma Island, possibly Disneyland (if my colleague can score free entry tix for us), just shop for a day or two, and also go Shenzhen! In the meantime, I have a heck a lot of work to go through! Zzzzzzzzz!

Old library fines

Hey Ho!

I am now in SG -as we have Daughtry in town till Friday!

I am now home, spending time with family + Logan. Gonna be moving into the hotel so that it makes things easier with the band for the next few days.

Just now, during dinner with my family, my dad passed me a letter he received from the National Library Board who has kindly requested for me to settle my 'outstanding charges'. It seems that they finally cleaned up their accounts and decided to ask their members to pay up!!

'Members who have outstanding fines and fees will be denied some of our services.' - OMG! You won't let me borrow any more books? You won't let me have free (smelly) air con at the various community libraries? :O

I owe them a grand total sum of......$1.35. Wow. What would you do without my $1.35? Anyway. Apparently, in 1993, it seemed that I had borrowed a book called 'Mariah loves rock' (no kiddin! I thought Mariah just likes her own big boobs and her seven octave vocal range!), in 199, I apparently also borrowed a book called "A bundle of nerves - stories of horror, suspense'. Frankly, I'd like to think that 1999 wasn't THAT long ago but for the life of me, I do not recall borrowing this book. Furthermore, another two more books that got me quite puzzled included 'Lost in Place - Growing up Absurd in Suburbia' (look, if I had read this in 1999, I'm pretty sure I could have come up with the concept for 'Desperate Housewives'??? Haha!) and the more mystifying 'Without feathers' - what is this? A book about chickens???

In any case, I really don't recall reading these but my dad decided that since it's a mere $1.35, we should just pay up so that *gasp* I may continue using their 'various library services'.

Ah well, I guess once they start collecting money from everyone, they will probably get a pretty decent sum so we shouldn't begrudge them what is theirs. Okay my sister needs to do some homework - she's doing her part time degree- so I gotta pass the comp to her! Bye!

Down memory lane...

The titles of my various posts are generally unimaginative. The content is less of a struggle to write than coming up with something somewhat un-boring.

(Shit, I lost my train of thought, I forgot what I wanted to say in this post!)

Errmm....anyway....oh okay.

An old friend from Melbourne who is still Down Under, uploaded a bunch of old photos from when we were there together in 2000. Looking back, I was kinda not-so-fat but had terribly plain style (or maybe whatever 'style' I had, was all the rage in Year 2000, I don't really recall now which is also a scary thought coz that's just merely 7 years ago). And I think I didn't know what 'make-up' was.

The pictures brought back fond memories of university days in Melbourne! I am sure it has changed much! The last time I was in Melbourne was in 2001. We have always talked of going back together at one point just to do a 'down the memory lane' type of trip. I suggested 2010. I think it would be apt.

In any case, this is my graduation photo! Ha! I don't even know where my own went but ah well. The other girl in the photo is Jasmine - the one who found the photos and uploaded them! I used to have one chin! Nowdays I got 'bonus' chin.
