Why like dat?

3rd day at work and lunchtime is proving to be an absolute nightmare! It is a fuckin madhouse of people and the only decent options are 1) eat at a slightly more expensive restaurant (day 1 but boss paying) 2) "da bao" from a takeaway place or 3) eat sandwiches. I swear i ate more sandwiches for the past few days than i can possibly imagine. Guess it's easy to order coz these sandwich places are meant for ang mohs i.e can't speak canto like me.

Anyway, furniture's here! Just realised that i didn't plan very well.. hmmm.. tv cabinet is silver/grey, coffee table is white, and sofa is red... and dining table is like lightbrown wood... i guess better than buyin everything from the same series then it would really look like a showroom flat.

Nonetheless, am excited to have my own place. Now for the TV to arrive and it should be good. there are a couple of cable/broadband tv options and i don't know which one to get. ONe thing for sure, i must get internet by these two days. I only have my mp3 player today and books.

Ok lah ANOTHER MEETING!

In Hong Kong!

I know some of you have been waiting to hear from me through this blog and this is much faster than updating via SMS (expensive), MSN (only at work), emails (multiple lah).

So here i am, in Hong Kong.... I'm still putting up at a hotel coz the furniture is not in yet. I bought EVERYTHING from Ikea.. then found out there were probably even cheaper options at this place called PriceRite (darn should have read that HK book that Jay gave me earlier!) Oh well....so am just anticipating furniture and most importantly my television (!!!) to come in on Tues & Thurs respectively. Then I guess I'll be occupied this weekend cleaning up the place and making it liveable... and obviously waiting for my boxes to come in. I get a feeling I may have to buy more stuff from Ikea... and after making the house liveable...then what?

Office doesn't even seem ready for me to start work. I have a table and a new laptop (YAY!) and that's it. Oh yeah, a telephone, in-trays and stationery. Dun even have a mousepad, am using a sheet of paper. I dun remember if i packed my Elvis mousepad, coz i sure as hell hope i did now.
I got no storage space, no pedestals and everything's open. Bleargh.

Okie shan't complain.. am sure everything will be in place by next week.

The next two days are just meetings meetings and more meetings.

Shall go catch up on the emails now. Update later!

6 more days to go..

...before I am all packed for the big move to HK. Feels so awfully fast but it seems that people around me are more concerned about this move than I am. I guess I'm just glad to be able to try something new and on my own coz who knows, I may meet my "leng zai" there. Haha!

It is a whirlwind of meet-ups, catch-up dinners this whole week. Most have been awfully sweet and bought me presents. I never knew going away constitutes giving a present. But it feels like birthday part II so I ain't complaining. :P

I should be leaving for HK this Sat on the 27th but haven't booked my flight. Crap - I sure hope there are still seats. Hopefully Erica comes back with good news i.e. Ikea delivers on the day itself u order! Then I shall leave on Sunday morning instead. Don't think it'll be very fun moving to an empty apartment. My furnishing skills aren't that good too. Maybe i should let my mom go with me.... hmmmm...

A stripper indeed!

My colleagues are a real hoot. Especially my boss.

They threw me a "farewell" bash last Friday in the office. Starting innocently with KFC, Pizza Hut for dinner, we obviously progressed to what I thought was the main highlight of the evening: the booze.

Fik also came for the party and I felt bad for not having told him earlier that I was going HK. He asked "Why didn't you tell me you were going to HK?" He was also sweet enough to bring me a present and gave me big hugs when he left.

They also made a very nice & touching powerpoint presentation, with young Jo Ho inputting the funny, corny captions. I think they wanted to touch me to make me cry but unfortunately, I couldn't coz I was laughing so hard.

Oh but obviously the 'highlight' of the evening was when Kelly asked me to close my eyes, and I turned around my chair to see a total stranger behind me. I knew it was bad news when Merv put on "I'm too Sexy" and the dude started gyrating and grabbing my hands to touch him! Harrowwwwwsss!! Dude had a decent bod by the time he stripped himself down to orange/black briefs (ack!?!) but he was too 'teethy' - almost ape-like! and honestly I couldn't bear to look at him. Nobody saved me (THANKS GUYS HMRPH!) and as I was seated facing the men of the office, I can totally tell they were damn embarrassed as well. But I could tell the gals were having a fun time, giggling and recording the whole thing down. Glad to have brought you so much joy people.

By 11pm, I had drunk probably about 2 - 3 bottles of red wine and was concussed on the leather couch near the entrance. I don't think I'm quite half as bad as some of the other people who subsequently got drunk i.e. Yeacy, Case, Susan & Cynthia! hahahah! I shan't go into details but i will try to post some pics haha!

Alrighty, CSI now.

Back (for a while....)

Hey hey, back from HK. Feels like I've been on a plane a lot, though it's only about 4 times. Man, SQ is like a kazillion times better than Garuda. For once, the food is edible.. and do I say it? Even yummy...Ha

Last I posted, I was lookin for an apartment. Found one almost *perfect* one in Causeway Bay. smack in the heart of the city at Jardine's Crescent....BUT KNNBCCB it is slightly over budget and no furniture! So keepin fingers crossed that company will allow a bit of budget to buy the basics like bed/mattress, sofa, TV + TV cabinet and a dining table set. Hoping and hoping but chances are not high. Which means apartment hunt starts all over again when I go there. Oh gawd I hope bosses just gimme the Causeway Bay apt and end of story.

Gonna go back to HK either 27th or 28th Aug.
Now too tired (Lazy) to post.

Apartment hunting

HK is a real concrete jungle. Damn buildings everywhere! and some are those old shaky looking ones with the old skool air cons hanging out of the windows and apparently during typhoons, some of them will fall off. Nice.

Saw 12 apartments so far and they are either tiny, dark, haunted looking, smelly, inconvenient or completely surrounded by buildings. Saw one that I pretty liked and within budget. On the 24th floor and it's a 3 min walk to the MTR station. When the office moves to the new premises next Feb, it will be a 15 min walk from home to there. it has clean wooden floors, and normal light brown furniture which wasn't glamourous but at least wasn't UGLY. some had really ugly wallpaper and they even wallpaper the ceiling. WTF siah. This one is bright and the owner will buy new furniture for the house. Heck we can even request to buy to what i like as long it's within the budget stipulated by them. Hmmm, well gonna see somemore tmrw before cofirming on that one. Only problem is tat i will need to commute 7 MTR stops to get to the current office which takes abt 20 min. I will miss my Suzie. sigh.

In the HK office now checkin my emails. New boss Michelle doesn't know what to prep me about and in all honesty I don't know how to get started on this new job. She has already given an idea of roughly what artistes I will be handling and guess what!? I STILL GET BLOODY BRITNEY AND WESTLIFE! AAAAHHHHHH! Anyway I start officially on the 29th so dun need to do real work at this point. Waitin for my colleague to finish work so i can have dinner with somebody. Had dinner alone last nite, luckily menu had english words, juts went in and POINT. Vietnamese noodles... pretty good except for all those gawddamn beansprouts which took up half the bowl at least. Think WK wlil freak out if she saw those haha!

Okie damn getting hungry fro this waiting. Blah.

Back from Bali!

Back from Bali WITHOUT a tan thankyouverymuch. Don't ask me how that happened. We sat under the sun for 3 hours one hot late morn till noon and another day during late afternoon. Just didn't cook. Hmrph! Shopping was pretty decent in Bali, trick is to NOT go to Kuta, but to Legian which is slightly further from the main beach area. Sequinned slippers for $3/pair anyone?

Went to a gorgeous gorgeous restaurant called KU DE TA. Pretty expensive but worth every penny! Dinner in the main restaurant, after which u can proceed to lounge in deck chairs with your fancy martinis/wines overlooking waves crashing into shores. It was all very romantic of coz except it was just us 3 single gals. Yeah, even the taxi driver asked us "Kudeta, very romantic, where r the men?" Thanks, rub it in why don't u?

Also tried out local cuisine which in all honesty, no biggie. Thai food is much better, but thanks to Alice's great recommendation, our last nite was not wasted as we went to "KOPI POT" where there was an excellent mee goreng and a funky coq au vin (chicken cooked in red wine sauce with onions and mushrooms!) I kinda like it but I think it takes a while to get used to the taste.

Gotta go crash as I need to be up in 5 hours time to go to HK.

Will update on Bali when I'm back!

HAHA! My second post!

Blogging is quite fun. It's like sending an email to nobody in particular. It's great when you have something boring to do (like a marketing plan) but don't feel like doing or nothing better to do. And frankly if you are reading this, you have nothing better to do too huh?

T.F.G.I.F! I have a jam-packed month this month.. starting with a 'happening' weekend. Gonna celebrate Ronnie Boy's bday on Sat nite and going to Kai's uncle's place for MJ on Sun! Watching DIM SUM DOLLIES with WK & Yeacy on Sun nite and then off to BALI for a frolickin' good time Mon morn! Comin back from Bali on Sat nite, and off again to HK on Sun MORNING to find myself an apartment. Man, I feel tired just typing it out, without even doing it.

For those who haven't found out yet, yeah I'll be moving to Hong Kong at the end of August to start a new job in the regional office of my current company. V exciting but I speak no Cantonese. I imagine it will be a bit tough... Gotta go do some real work. It's office hours. Will post later.

I can't believe I blogged!

Hey, I just clicked "Get Your Own Blog" on the top of Jo Ho's blog and taaa-daaa, me-sa have a blog!

I can't believe it, I generally think bloggers are folks either in love with themselves or think that the world actually cares about what they write about. Hmmm, maybe this is a cry for attention for myself!

*LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME!*

Ahem, aaaaanywaaaay, there you go.. my first blog... random ramblings indeed! Ho ho ho!
