No more typhoon

I swear it's just Jules, there's no more typhoon liao though it's still a bit windy...

I am re-posting this coz I have no life as you all know it. It was probably for the best that the previous post got deleted coz that was an exceptionally crappy piece of writing.. (not like this is any better haha! I took out some stuff lah) - it's still pretty long.

Jules & Sherina (her boss) came on Friday nite and from that night on, it was windy like mad. Turned out that we had a constant typhoon signal 3 throughout the weekend. I swear it's just them, coz in my 4 weeks here, I only experienced a typhoon once, and it was a signal one. And that was intense, with very heavy rain. It rained badly on Sunday morning but it was super duper windy throughout the weekend, particularly Sat.

It was shopping galore from Sat morning onwards starting at Tsim Sha Tsui. After a dimsum breakfast (where we got ripped off with super expensive xiao long bao), we all bought stuff, ranging from those Chinese silk pouches, to shoes (i bought two pairs at HK$60 & HK$70 each!) and the two of them were determined to find a branded bag for some reason. Guess you can't quite find it in TST or Mong Kok which we went to later that afternoon. Jules even managed to buy a top at HK$10!!

We managed to find this restaurant I have been looking for ever since a HK colleague brought WK & I there before in Mong Kok. After 'Ladies' Market' (which is a tourist essential), we were heading towards the train station when we found it! It serves yummy fried 'chu qian yi ding' instant noodles with fried chicken wings! EXCELLENT stuff! We even bought a pack home so we can have it for breakfast the next morning. Heh, but major 'pu zua'.

After dumping a day's worth of shopping, and them parading their new items to each other, we headed towards LKF where we met one of Sherina's friend. Went to Volar (again!) but it was empty at 10.45pm so headed towards Dragon-I which is also quite a 'IT" place. It was, and after letting us sit at a reserved table for a while, we had to vacate... Even after we ordered drinks. Fucked up place, apparently serves models clientele predominantly, and most of the club is VIP, with very little seats for 'normal' folks! PTUI!

Proceeded to this tiny club called JEWEL where the only way u can 'buy' ur way into the club is to order 2 bottles of Dom Perignon. Thankfully they had two guy friends who were here for business and they paid. And man was that some excellent champagne! We got pretty 'happy' and poor Jules had to put up with one of the guy's fren being over friendly and attempting to put his arm around her all the time. I was just constantly refilling my flute with the HK$900 champagne! WOOOHOO!

Woke up to howling wind on Sun, so had to chill till about 12 before we went out around my area. The gals were determined to buy a bag and not any cheapo bag at that! We checked out plenty of those 2nd hand branded bag stores and on a tip from Adrianne (the gal who brought us to the clubs the night before), headed towards Ap Lei Chau to the Prada Warehouse. And those two gals bought a bag each. I was eyeing a nice yellow leather one which cost abt S$680 which isn't expensive for a Prada at all! Luckily my common sense got the better of me and now i still have the money in my bank.

We met up with some of Sherina's frens and went for an excellent dinner at Times Square at a restaurant called Water Margin. Man, it cost a bomb but was it worth every penny! We started with smoked pork cheek (too erm smoky in our opinion), and had an excellent lamb dish (done the way roast pork is done), beef fillet (oh so good!) , tofu, this green veggie that looked like pieces of jade, cold pigeon, and the highlight of the dinner was the house specialty - fried chicken that came served in a huge plate covered with dried chilli. Man was it spicy! I swear all our lips went numb and we were eating white rice, drinking lychee liquer, rose tea, ice water, well anything that would take away the burning sensation but boy it was awesome!

Meeting up with some of this group of ppl this Wed - gonna watch Horse Racing! Should be quite an eye opener and will hopefully slowly make more friends. One of them has said there's no point joining whatever Singapore Association coz he went to one before and he was out so fast even before actually MEETING them coz it was just full of ah peks. Errr, great, thanks for the tip off.. will just have to make friends the more difficult way then. This coming from a guy who's at least 35 and he thinks those are ah peks, i think they are like my Dad's age man.....

Just when i said the typhoon has stopped, it has just started howling and raining again. Keepin fingers crossed for Typhoon Signal 8 - don't need to work! Hee hee!

More on Wed!

Whoops sorry - my bad. Nearly landed you in a whole association full of Ah Peks. Lucky you're way better at this socialising thing than me >=P

Great...I'm getting an image of portly balding old men wearing tight tight t-shirts trying to be "with it" now. >=|
