Do you believe in love at first sight?

I have always wondered if this theory holds true. Technically, it will never be 'love' at first sight coz how can u 'love' someone without really knowing them? It should be 'lust at first sight' coz it's all physical attraction ain't it?

Just in case you guys get all excited about the heading, no it's not me (though I wish some dashing dude will come and sweep me off my feet, leaving me breathless and dizzy in love but I can only continue wishing....HA!)

One of my colleagues (soon to be ex colleague) has quit her job and will be relocating to Chicago by end of the year. Lucky her, I wish I get to move to the US. Anyway, I was just chatting with her and realise she's moving partly coz of a man. I thought she knew him for ages coz she's constantly on the phone with him and she's started looking at bridal mags and all. I just found out yest that she's only met him LAST MONTH(!!) at her sister's wedding in Chicago but they just clicked and they just knew they were meant to be together. They spent all of SIX days being physically together in the same place that is and the dude is more commited towards this r/ship than she is but altogether, it's such a bloody sweet theory it makes me a bit sick. It's such a whirlwind romance I think it's good. Just cut to the chase and get to the point. Could work for me. HA!

Firstly, Jan, 'come and sweep me away on my feet' is absolutely horrendous Engrish!

Secondly, I agree with you about 'lust at first sight'. But let's go back to the theory of love at first sight. I once read somewhere that if a man believes in love at first sight, then you should be very careful of him, cos he will most likely fall for any woman that catches his fancy. Think about it - if your man met you at a party, and fell in love with you citing 'love at first sight', what's stopping him from attending another party a year later and doing exactly the same with someone else? It's far fetched, but there is some truth in it.

Do I believe in love at first sight? I believe in a lot of things, but this one's a bit iffy, so I'm going to lean towards no. I can 'fall in love/lust' with someone I see for the first time, but if she opens her mouth and out comes a string of rapid-fire Chinese, I'm outta there!

HAHA!
