Grandparents
I just heard that my grandpa (mom's dad) is once again in the hospital having suffered a stroke. He had one before a few years ago and that has left him pretty weak in the legs and he takes 30 min to walk to the bathroom to take a leak (by then he would have prob wet himself)
He got much better (if u can call being able to walk instead of being wheelbound - better) and my grandma was the problematic one. She has liver/lungs/all internal organs problems and have been in and out of the hospital so much it is starting to drive my uncles/aunties/mom crazy. She refuses to stay overnight in the hospital despite doctors' recommendation and upon getting home, will have difficulty breathing and insist to be brought to the hospital in the middle of the night. U can just imagine the havoc she's been wreaking upon my uncles/aunties.
Anyway, my grandpa just went into the hospital after the stroke and the doctor said he has a blood clot in the brain. The option is of course surgery but at age 88+, it's too risky and he may not even survive the procedure. My mom and uncles were at the hospital with him and my mom just told my younger sis that she tried testing how alert my grandpa was and asked him how old he is. He said "14" coz he thought she was asking him how many children he has! He's probably just reciting it coz people are always testing him I guess.. My mom's like "You 14 years old only ah?" and he can still laugh. My grandpa is cute with a real sense of humour.
My cousin just SMSed my sisters to try to go visit him, but my younger sis has chicken pox! And I'm here in HK! I hope he clings on to after CNY at least. He has been clinging on for the past few years... we all thought we've lost him at around the time he turned 80.... he's come this far....
