Food in HK

G sent me all the photos that we took during his trip here in HK so thought perhaps will post some of them. It's a lot of photos so will just post some only lah coz I'm a lazy cow. This post will be on FOOD. The problem with us is we always forget to take picture! Doh! Anywaaaay, here goes....

At Tung Po Sea Food Restaurant at Java Road (North Point). The food was so damn excellent I tell you!!!! Just thinking about it makes me super duper hungry!

Beer was served in bowls. Heh. Well G had to drink from a bowl. I had Jolly Shandy which I drank out of the bottle tyvm.

Squid Ink Pasta! This dish leaves a funky inky black look on your lips, teeth, mouth once you put it in your mouth. Yes it looks a wee bit gross coz black black one but trust me, it tastes gorgeous!

Sashimi that G & I had one day along with pork ramen. I actully only like salmon, don't really fancy the rest but G ate most of it. Heh.

We had dinner at a quaint romantic little French brassiere in SoHo! Stumbled upon it accidentally while contemplating our choices of expensive restaurants on that stretch! This place turned out to be cheaper than most of the joints and the food was decent! We shared an appetizer of salmon on rocket salad, french onion soup/shrimp bisque and for mains, G had a roasted pork knuckle and I had surf & turf. Dessert was good too! See pic below. G had a iced cheesecake & I had a baked apple tart. Yummers!

I treated G to Aqua one night where the food was super expensive. The place was super dark so we didn't take much pictures. He had a baked snapper and I had king prawn on risotto.

The view over G's coffee from Aqua. It was raining that night, kinda romantic I guess. Haha!

Last but not least, a snap shot of G's lovingly prepared dinner. He cooked a grand total of 4 dinners for me but we only took picture of this meal coz these pork chops ROCK I tell ya!

Food! Hong Kong's only saving grace. And that's saying a lot considering they don't have Roti Canai and Teh Tarik. The other three meals I cooked comprised pork bone soup, stir-fry chicken, and bak kut teh (courtesy of a pre-packed spice satchet). But the find of the trip, as Jan pointed out, was the French brasserie we stumbled upon at Central. We got a nice cosy corner, had a wonderful meal, and paid a decent price. Not bad at all! The zi cha place at Java Road market was very good too. Aqua's just full of chao ang mohs with their token Asian girlfriends.
