Ocean Park

The quintessential HK theme park! Nope, not Disneyland. That's a farce. Ocean Park is THE original theme park here in cantotown so one freaking hot Saturday, G & I took a bus to squeeze with HKie teenagers and bloody mainlanders.

This is the Mine Train. The only ride we went on coz it took us close to 2 hours to get to our turn. We bought the souvenir photo coz it was quite nice and both of us looked like we were having fun though to tell you the truth, G was dead nervous! I promised he could cling on to me if he was frightened (this was my 2nd go on this ride - I took it a few years ago when I first came to HK with WK) but to his credit, I think he enjoyed the ride. He even smiled for the souvenir pic!

View from the 'Observatory Tower'. It wasn't exactly a ride but it was air conditioned and the queue was short.
Haha! G trying to mimick the expressions of the two most fortunate Pandas in the world, An An & Jia Jia. We witnessed An An having his dinner while Jia Jia was taking a nap in her enclosure. That disgusting bear took a massive poop in her sleep - her shit just dribbled down to the grass patch, much to the amusement to the crowd. Imagine the mainlander crowd squealing with excitement at a panda's pooping. After finishing up her 'business', she merely turned over and continued her slumber. Never wipe backside. Tsk.

G's maiden trip on a cable car! Look how bloody pleased he is! The queue for the cable car was super long though thankfully it moved fairly quickly! The guy controlling the crowd, or rather shoving ppl into the cable cars as they came around, gave us one of our own! Yay! Private car!

While we were waiting for the cable car, G & I decided to take random silly shots! In our best kawaii poses no less!

Ended the day with a dinner at Stanley. But that day's activities, intense heat from the sun and no doubt germs from the mainlanders caused G to feel ill that night and that Sat night ended on a slight low as G wrapped himself in my quilt and sweated out his fever!

Stand in line for almost two hours to take a two minute ride! That's a first, and probably the last! And being so high up in the sky meant that I was breathing in more rancid fumes. No wonder I fell sick! But the cable car at Ocean Park rocks! I haven't taken the Sentosa one, but I reckon it'll pale in comparison.

We stood in line, glared at pesky children, made fun of mainlanders ('spot the bad fashion!' there were plenty!),listened to mp3s on the phone (thank you technology!).. not too sure, can't remember already - the heat MUST have fried our brains! Sigh!
