Almost Christmas
Well not exactly true but think about it - it is already October! Very soon, the Xmas decorations will come up in Orchard Road.
I was back in SG over the weekend as it was HK National Day on Oct 1 so we had Oct 2 (Monday) off! Reached SG on Friday night 11.30pm on UA. The flight was faster than my usual CX flights coz it was on a Boeing 747 - plane bigger so fly faster. Haha. And UA is slightly cheaper too but no personal entertainment system lah. But it is alright with me. All I need is a trashy mag and/or a good book and 3 1/2 hours is quite bearable coz I have G to look forward to!
We went cycling on Saturday morning! From his house, it is a reasonable distance to get to East Coast Park so after breakfast, at about 10.30am, off we went! It was fun, healthy & scenic. But bloody haze smelt so damn bad! As we were about to head back, it started to pour! We took shelter at the food centre and the rain was so heavy there was no real 'shelter' to speak of! We were getting splattered with rain from various directions! When the rain got a bit lighter, we had lunch there (excellent duck rice! YUM!) and decided to brave the rain to make a dash home! As we left the food centre, the rain got heavier again and we were in the middle of nowhere! It was pouring so heavily I couldn't really quite see and was honestly a bit worried that I would crash. Thankfully there were no major incidents though we were both soaking wet! Had to jump into the shower the moment we got back if not I am sure we would both fall sick! We had a good laugh overall and felt like teenagers doing random boh liao reckless things! Heh!
After nuah-ing at his place for a while, waiting for the rain to stop, we then headed to town. We met up with Addy, Elene & Trish who were out shopping. We originally all wanted to go for Starlight Cinema but given the heavy downpour that day, we weren't keen. As G puts it, he is sure the event is 'a complete washout'! Haha, pun fully intended. We had coffee at Coffee Club, followed by drinks at Ice Cold Beer with H's new squeeze. Also I'm forbidding G to drink anymore. He gets sleepy after one drink and when he is sleepy he is grouchy! And I don't like it when he is grouchy. Grrr....I had to drive us back after ICB and he was asleep in the car! After ONE beer! Riggghhhhtt..
On Sunday - I thought I was going to go home and have lunch with my folks but G & I slept past his church time and his folks went to church without him! In the end his mom bought breakfast back for both of us and then G & I went out shopping at Far East. In the afternoon, we met my smelly teenage brother Eugene so we could drive to Jumbo Seafood at East Coast Park to have dinner with my family as it was my younger sister's birthday. Logan came! He just sat on a chair at the table drooling at all of us tucking into drunken prawns, sweet n sour pork, black pepper/chilli crabs, fish and more! My dad was also in a really good mood - I think he's just happy that the dog is there lah hahah! Usually he spends meal times outside worrying about Logan alone at home. He's a dog for goodness sake! Sometimes my dad thinks the dog is a human baby.
Monday - Woke up at 6 freaking am coz G had to go to work! G drove himself to work and I drove home. My dad was home coz it was (belated) Children's Day. I was going to go to Ikea to have lunch with Ian so I drove my parents there to go shopping. After lunch, I headed to Great World City to do coffee with Jules & Wei Keng. All in all, I ended up spending a bit of time with my parents afterall.
Now I am back in cantoshithole. G comforted me by telling me to see this as a 24 day business trip as I will be back again on 27th October (another long weekend - come back Fri night, leave Tues morning). Shall keep myself occupied and time will fly! It will be Christmas soon! Better start saving up n buying Xmas pressies soon! Whooops!
