Jakarta

Pardon the lack of updates. After being in Kuala Lumpur for 3 days, I flew into Singapore for a pretty busy 3 day promotion before flying off to Jakarta. Jakarta is not as bad as they make it out to be on TV but it's still pretty bleak. The whole place is just so.... dark. And there are so many children running around the roadsides, pavements are pitchblack, roadside stalls are lit by a mere lightbulb and street lights literally only light the roads.

And the food is bleah too! The only thing I really like is the fact we are never lacking of chilli sauce/sambal belachan! The hotel is also quite 3rd world. After the luxurious Shangri La in KL and the new and modern Conrad in SG, this one just feels... old. It is also not very comfortable - I have a neckache coz the pillows are lousy.

Anyway two days after arriving here, Tata started losing her voice so we had no choice but to cut short this trip. We were originally going to depart Jakarta on Thursday but we cancelled 3 days worth of promo, did a major press conference to apologize for the cancellation and we are leaving today (Tuesday). I am now in SQ's first class lounge with my boss & her daughter waiting for our 2.25pm flight back to Singapore. Am quite relieved to be leaving this place actually! :)

Alright - gonna check some emails now. Later!
