Another 'anniversary'!

Today marks my 6th year in the company! Not the one in HK particularly but with this company through its original name, original location in Jalan Bukit Merah, moving onto Forum, then to Shaw after the merger, and now me here in cantoland!

I can still (vaguely) remember my first day! I wore a purple tank top and black jeans to work coz I was asked to help with their springcleaning! Doh! And it was a Friday too! I think I stacked betacam tapes and sorted out photos slides - man, SUPER OLD SKOOL! In a way, I am glad I started out at a very low position in this industry, as now I think I am able to see it from the 'lower' levels up to where I am now. Those who came in straight and became manager/director/VP, have less understanding (IMHO anyway) and thinks that things happen by magic! Eh, opening CDs & stamping PROMO ONLY and photocopying & highlighting radio/retail charts for sales people (who don't read) is VERY TIME CONSUMING OKAY!

The industry has changed in these 6 years and I daresay so have I. From a super enthusiastic wide-eyed 21 year old who used to be so thrilled if a song from my company got added on a radio station's rotation or secure a full page cover on LIME/ST Life to someone who is super duper jaded 'What? Another Westlife album? Whaaateeevverrr!', I think I have come a pretty long way for all of 6 years. But 6 years is not that long - I have colleagues who have been in the company for close to 20! Wah kao, buay sian meh!?
