Sick
Sorry for the lapse of updates, I was actually back from SG on Sunday night but was so damn bloody sick I could barely bathe, let alone blog. I caught a bug in Singapore on Saturday (I think), and two late nights in a row (Friday was drinks with ex colleagues in Zouk, Sat I was at St James with the gals) is more than my old fragile body could take. When I got back to G's place on Saturday, I quickly hit the showers, dried my hair and went to lie down in an attempt to fall asleep. G went to sort out his laundry coz his pants got stained at the restaurant, and when he finally came to bed, he hugged me good night and went 'baby you are burning up!!!' I had no idea that I was; in fact I was feeling a bit numb. He jumped out of bed to grab me some pills to eat to bring the temperature down and wrapped my head with a towel and tucked me in. I woke up feeling better and thought I was fit to fly back. Oh man, when I got to the airport, I was a right state what with loads of sneezing, sniffly nose and my body was starting to clam up again. The way I looked, I'm surprised that every step of the way, nobody stopped me to go 'Miss, you look too sick to fly'. When I was in the plane, I was shivering and when I asked for a blanket, the stewardess apologetically went 'Sorry we are out of blankets but I will raise the temperature for you' (I am not pleased with this, I want to complain!)
When the plane finally landed, I was so relieved I think I almost burst into tears. I was surprised I made it out of HK airport since they have those heat sensor things to make sure people with a high temperature will be checked (they scared of SARs ah, they super paranoid) but I was lucky that when I walked past, the guy manning that screen had a colleague who came by to talk to him at that very minute. I walked past and caught a glimpse of myself in the screen - I was a different colour coz my body temperature was THAT hot. I couldn't even take the train back to the city, and just took a cab directly from the airport (by doing so, I spend about S$40 more) but I was really dead on my feet by then. Got home, hit the showers, called G to let him know I reached, called my mom and when she heard my voice, she was very worried and tried to make me to go to the doctor's! I was like 'It's 10pm! On a Sunday! Leave me alone! I'll go tomorrow!"
It was a terrible night, woke up a lot, hum-bin'ed a lot, sweated it out into my quilt but thankfully self medication helped a bit and in the morning I went to the doctor's where she just said 'it's a virus bug' and gave me 4 pills and cough mixture to fix it. Now I am much better though the cough still sounds a bit nasty!
I had to get much better coz for the next two days I am attending Music Matters so I will be out of the office. Hope this will be interesting. I had something else I wanted to blog but I forget though I'm sure it will come back to me by this weekend. I won't be yoga-ing until the cough is gone coz I think my fellow yogis will be freaked by me coughing in class. So thou shall be considerate and not go......until mebbe this Saturday.
I'm bored now, shall blog another time! Toodles!
