Pulau Ubin!
H says she noticed I have stopped blogging ever since I returned to Singapore. More than anything else, it's coz I don't have easy access to a computer after working hours. I can use the super lao pok computer in the living room - I think it's 6 years old, or use the comp in my brother's room (but his room smells so funky that I reckon spending time in that room will cause giddiness and the nose to die involuntarily in order not to inhale 'poisonous' fumes. Hurhur.
I've been a good gal -I think - I have been going back home for dinner at least twice a week and then meeting either the gals or G for dinner/movie. It is like life is back to normal. In the car one weekend I turned to G and went 'WE IS NORMAL!'! Heh. The novelty is wearing off after about 2 weeks liao - and speaking about 2 weeks, MY DAMN BOXES AIN'T HERE YET! Super annoyed coz apparently there was 'port congestation in HK'. Oh like THAT is my problem. Grrrr! Well I should be finally getting them before this weekend.
Yesterday, a few of us went to Pulau Ubin to go on a boardwalk. Check out this site -- http://nakedhermitcrabs.blogspot.com/ We have our pic there haha!

Me & H about to board our bumboat at Changi Jetty. There is no regular departure time - the boats leave once each has 12 people. It costs $2.50 per person and the journey takes 10 minutes. Quite fun! Very old skool and the boat uncles are extremely grouchy!
HELLO UBIN! My first trip there leh. Yes I so suaku, it's a bit sad.
We went to Chek Jawa on the board walk along the shoreline and within the mangrove swamps. We saw fiddler crabs, mud skippers (which looks like slabs of shit with eyes wahhaa) which was quite cool. I've never thought there was still quite a bit of nature left in urbanized Singapore. This is a pic of me climbing the Jejawi Tower (observatory deck)
This is a pic of...Civet Cat shit. Wahahahah! Did you know we still have civet cats in Singapore? We didn't manage to spot any unfortunately but we definitely saw signs of them around! For the uninitiated, the deal with these cats is that in Vietnam or can't remember which part of the world, these cats eat coffee beans and then shit them out, and these digested coffee beans are being carefully gathered and cleaned and made into extremely expensive coffee beans. WTF - I know. People pay good money to drink this coffee. Our guide said she tried something similar before and said the coffee is just sourish. This baffles me. The thought is just repulsive.
At the English Cottage at the end of the trip! We went off to have a seafood dinner near the jetty before heading back to Changi. There should be a few more pics on H's camera and will upload when I get them.
